A little sorry to see it go, but it was time, and there's always reruns.

I, too, was a little sorry to see Happy Endings go -- it seems better received than so many of the things that got to stay -- The Neighbors, anyone? -- and Go On, which also seemed to have a following and was a quality show, unlike, again, The Neighbors. I wasn't taken with The New Normal and I pretty much hated 1600 Penn, so I'm not sorry to see either of them go. Not sure what it is about Community. I agree it's been weird this year (well, it's always weird, but I mean weird not in a good way) and I kind of expected it to limp to a close.

Yeah, I'm sad about Go On. More than I expected. We totally need to get Laura Benanti something good. At least she wasn't attached to the abysmal Smash. So there's that. Now we need Laura Benanti, Christian Borle, Jack Davenport and Megan Hilty to get a show based on Merrily We Roll Along, moving backwards. I suppose there's a better choice for Frank than Jack Davenport (does he sing?) but he has the right persona. And those four would be amazing together if we could just get them free of anything Playboy, McPhee, Spielberg or Rebeck. Or, you know, NBC.JulieKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12521424567356348282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6816366806127608207.post-7205321941068298142013-05-21T11:19:21.177-05:002013-05-21T11:19:21.177-05:00Regrets about Happy Endings, though back when I th...Regrets about Happy Endings, though back when I thought we'd see no more after they aired the initial 13, I can't really complain about a 2.5-season run.

Mild regret about Go On, which I came to like for its surprisingly deft handling of a subject I was sure they'd fumble (a big group dealing with loss) and for the depth of its ensemble of people I like to watch: Matthew Perry, Laura Benanti, Julie White, Tyler James Williams (nicely grown up from Everybody Hates Chris), John Cho, and more.

A bit of surprise about The New Normal, which I personally found grating but which I thought had acquired a certain cachet.

More than a bit of surprise about the renewal of Community, long a personal favorite of mine, but it's been floundering wildly this season under the new showrunners (however dedicated they were to keeping it going as before, and that may have been part of the problem). Between this and Go On, I wouldn't have guessed this is the one they keep.JAChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10942256334004773509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6816366806127608207.post-48453082170796122112013-05-20T18:49:41.141-05:002013-05-20T18:49:41.141-05:00My family thought The Office ended perfectly!!My family thought The Office ended perfectly!!Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06559881249054540947noreply@blogger.com
